Cetim-Cermat (www.cetim-cermat.com), the Centre Régional d'Innovation et de Transfert de Technologie associated with Cetim, is now COFRAC* accredited to ISO 17025: 2005 for the "vibration testing" activity of its "Ingénierie et Essais d'Endurance" laboratory (program 38-1), thus strengthening its position in the European testing laboratory market.
Cetim-Cermat provides analysis, testing, expert appraisal, innovation support and training services on behalf of major industrial groups and SMEs. With a staff of 45, Cetim-Cermat is recognized for its cutting-edge expertise in the field of metallic, polymer and composite materials.
For the past fifteen years, Cetim-Cermat has been providing testing, characterization and consultancy services in the field of vibration testing to major industrial groups and SMEs. This new Cofrac accreditation is official international recognition of our expertise. It offers its customers a genuine guarantee of control over test preparation and execution, and of the quality and reliability of the results delivered.
Vibration testing is used to study a product's behavior and verify its mechanical resistance when subjected to vibrations. Vibrations, like temperature variations or humidity, are part of the environment of many components and manufactured products: they are subjected to them from the moment they leave the factory, during their transfer to the user, and throughout their useful life.
Historically developed to meet the requirements of automakers and, more generally, principals in the transport industry (railways and aeronautics), vibration testing is now carried out to meet the needs of all sectors of industry.
Qualification tests are used, for example, in the fields of consumer electronics, industrial equipment, engine components, etc., to validate products intended for installation on machines or equipment in vibratory environments, before they are put on the market.
With globalization, more and more products are being transported over long distances. Transport simulation tests ensure that a product arrives intact at its destination, and that its packaging has fulfilled its protective role.
