Cetim-Cermat (www.cetim-cermat.com), Cetim's Regional Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer, is now coFRAC-accredited according to ISO 17025: 2005 for the "vibratory testing" activity of its laboratory "Engineering and Endurance Tests (Program 38-1) and thus strengthens its position in the European test laboratory market.
On behalf of industrialists, large groups and SMEs, Cetim-Cermat provides analysis, testing, expertise, innovation support and training. With 45 people, he is known for his expertise in metal, polymer and composite materials.
For the past fifteen years, Cetim-Cermat has been providing testing, characterisation and consulting services in the field of vibration testing for renowned industrial companies, large groups and SMEs. This new Cofrac accreditation is an official and international recognition of its competence. It offers its customers a real guarantee regarding mastery in the preparation and execution of tests, the quality and reliability of the results provided.
Vibratory tests are used to study the behaviour of a product and to check its mechanical resistance when subjected to vibrations. Vibrations, as well as temperature variations or humidity, are part of the environment of many components and manufactured products: they will be subjected to them as soon as they leave the factory when they are transferred to their user and throughout their duration of use.
Historically developed to meet the requirements of car manufacturers, and more generally of transport industry contractors (rail and aeronautics), vibration tests are now being carried out to meet the needs of all sectors of the industry.
Qualification tests are, for example, used in the fields of consumer electronics, industrial equipment, engine components... to validate, before they are put on the market, products intended to be mounted on machines or equipment implanted in vibratory environments.
With globalization, the number of products transported over long distances continues to grow. Transport simulation tests can then verify that a product will arrive intact at its destination and validate that its packaging has ensured its protective role.
