Just a stone's throw from the Apple campus in Cupertino stands this building. It's the last place on earth you'd want to go if you were an iPhone. This is where Apple puts its new models through all sorts of situations they might have to experience in the real world: drops, twists, pressure. These are all things that could turn your precious gadget into a little pile of metal and glass.

Apple opened its doors to show that its devices can withstand normal use in a person's pocket... The iPhone 6 passed hundreds of mechanical tests and was also used by thousands of Apple employees before it reached consumers' hands. In all, more than 15,000 phones have been tested and tortured in this building. But they reproduce the conditions of use outside the factory. This includes sitting with your phone in your pocket...
