Cetim has once again been Nadcap accredited, with no non-conformities. The accreditation concerns testing on composite materials (Non Metallic Materials Testing - NMMT: AC7122). 19 mechanical and physico-chemical tests were assessed.
This latest audit at Cetim's Nantes site, the fourth in a row with no non-conformities (a unique achievement worldwide), reinforces the Centre's position with aircraft manufacturers and their subcontractors.
This renewal of Nadcap accreditation is an important recognition for the aerospace sector. Cetim is now accredited as a mechanical and physicochemical testing laboratory for composite materials.
The demand for testing is growing: composites are becoming increasingly important in aeronautical construction, helping to lighten structures and thus improve energy efficiency and reduce pollutant emissions. The accreditation complements that already obtained for tests on metallic materials: Cetim now has a complete range of Nadcap-certified tests for the aeronautical world, and is strengthening its positions and the growth of its activity with its partners on behalf of companies in the EADS and Safran groups in particular.
To meet its customers' demands, Cetim concentrates its testing resources dedicated to composite materials at its Nantes site, which, for example, responded to over 10,000 requests this year. A team of 50 people can be mobilized for mechanical, physical, chemical and thermal testing.
Nadcap accreditation covers all composite materials.
