The Cetim was once again accredited Nadcap without any non-compliance. Accreditation relates to non Metallic Materials Testing (NMMT: AC7122).19 mechanical and physical-chemical tests were evaluated.
This new audit carried out at the Cetim site in Nantes, the fourth in a row without non-compliance (a unique performance worldwide), reinforces the Centre's position with aircraft manufacturers and their subcontractors.
This renewal of Nadcap accreditation is an important recognition for the aviation industry. Cetim is thus accredited as a mechanical and physical chemical testing laboratory for composite materials.
The demand for testing is indeed increasing: composites are becoming more and more important in aeronautical construction; they contribute to the reduction of structures and thus lead to greater energy efficiency and a reduction in polluting emissions. The accreditation already obtained for the tests on metal materials: Cetim now has a complete offer of Nadcap-certified tests for the aviation world, and strengthens its positions and the growth of its business with its partners on behalf of companies of the EADS and Safran groups in particular.
To meet the demands of its customers, Cetim is concentrating its testing resources dedicated to composite materials at its Nantes site, which has, for example, responded to more than 10,000 requests this year. A team of 50 people is thus mobilized for mechanical, physical, chemical and thermal tests.
This Nadcap accreditation covers all composite materials.
