Flir Systems announces the launch of its new AX8 fixed thermal imager. Small and economical, it combines a thermal and a visible camera and benefits from Flir's exclusive MSX technology. It is easy to install in tight spaces for continuous condition monitoring of critical electrical and mechanical equipment.
Thanks to its revolutionary thermal camera core, FLIR's Lepton, it can detect temperature problems in electrical and mechanical equipment at an early stage, preventing unplanned shutdowns, service interruptions and equipment failures. It's the ideal sensor for continuous condition monitoring and fire prevention, eliminating the need for periodic manual checks.
The AX8 does more than monitor temperatures. Each of its 4,800 image points represents a temperature. It generates a data stream via industry-standard interfaces (Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP) for easy analysis. It features a web interface and a full set of analysis and alarm functions that automatically alert you when it detects high temperatures.
Measuring 54 × 25 × 95 mm, the AX8 is easy to integrate into electrical installations or any manufacturing environment. It produces thermal, visible and MSX videos in standardized MJPEG, MPEG and H.264 formats, making them easy to use.
With its many functions in a small package, the FLIR AX8 meets the needs of condition monitoring and security in a wide range of environments. For example:
- industrial and manufacturing processes
- data centers
- electricity generation and distribution
- transportation
- storage facilities
- refrigerated warehouses
- critical condition monitoring
