S@iLink brings high-speed Internet access to all coastal users - fishermen, yachtsmen, scientific vessels, wind farms, coastguards, SNSM (French national lifeboat service), etc. - as well as to port areas. With speeds of 10 Mbps up to 20 nautical miles (37 km), this easy-to-install, affordable product enables real multimedia services at sea.
S@iLink consists of a waterproof box connected to two broadband antennas. Installed on a boat, it optimizes connection to 4G networks (Bands 1, 3, 7, 8 and 20). When S@iLink is not in a 4G coverage zone, it can switch back to less efficient technologies (UMTS or EDGE) to stay connected.
Via its Ethernet link, the system can seamlessly connect a PC for direct access to a high-speed IP network. It can also be directly connected to a Wi-Fi router to provide all those on board with access to a high-speed wireless network.
S@iLink is the result of 28 months of research at MVG, in partnership with Thales Communications & Security, Alcatel-Lucent, Déti and Telecom Bretagne, carried out within the Images et Réseaux and Mer Bretagne Atlantique competitiveness clusters (TMS project). This French product has already won two awards (Prix Compétitivité mécénat Banexi Ventures and Grand Prix Images & Réseaux mécénat Bpifrance).
