[email protected] brings high-speed internet to all coastal users, fishermen, boaters, scientific vessels, wind farms, coastguards, SNSM... as well as in port areas. The speeds of 10 Mbps up to 20 nautical miles (37 km) make real multimedia services at sea, thanks to a product that is easy to install and at an affordable price.
[email protected] consists of a waterproof case connected to two broadband antennas. Installed on a boat, it optimizes the connection with 4G networks (Bands 1, 3, 7, 8 and 20). When [email protected] is not in a 4G coverage zone, it can descend on less efficient technologies (UMTS or EDGE) to stay connected.
The system allows, via its Ethernet link, to connect a PC seamlessly so that it can access directly to a broadband IP network. It can also be directly connected to a Wi-Fi router to provide all people on board with access to a wireless broadband network.
[email protected] is the result of 28 months of research at MVG in partnership with Thales Communications - Security, Alcatel-Lucent, Déti, Telecom Bretagne, conducted within competitiveness clusters, Images - Networks and the Atlantic Brittany Sea (TMS project). It is a French product, already doubly rewarded (Competitiveness Award sponsorship Banexi Ventures and Grand Prix Images - Networks patronage Bpifrance).
