Rémi Vaucher, a research and development engineer at Nexo's research office since 1993, will present an online seminar on the simulation of an acoustic pavilion on Thursday, April 23, 2015.
Mr. Vaucher is responsible for the integration of speaker settings into Nexo electronics (equalization, protection, signal processing) and the development of the latest line of installation speakers developed entirely under Comsol.
The acoustic pavilion acts as an interface between the compression engine that renders the high frequencies and the air. In professional sound (in which Nexo is one of the main players) the control of directivity is a crucial parameter, that allowing accurate coverage of audience areas. Our study will focus on the simulation, measurement and representation of this directivity, carried out with the Comsol Multiphysics software.
A design loop using SolidWorks, Matlab and Comsol is described. The simulated pavilions are then prototyped and measured. The measurement is again re-injected into Matlab and compared to the simulation successfully. In this way the iterative prototyping process is greatly reduced.
This free interactive seminar will allow you to ask your questions live. A video archive of the event will also be available on the website. Free registration and video archive on the site below.
