Keyence presents the first digital microscope using a CMOS camera. This technology, very fast, has been optimized to offer at least the same image quality as that obtained with a CCD camera. It helps to increase the processing speed by a ratio of 5 to 10. All the image treatments that make the VHX Series so successful, are almost instantaneous.
The new Keyence digital microscope is revolutionizing the way imaging and analysis are done. The VHX series has been designed to overcome the limitations of traditional optical microscopes by providing high-resolution images almost instantaneously, with high-quality depth-to-field composition and built-in 2D/3D measurement function, all in a system that anyone can easily learn to use and without specific training.
The VHX 5000 Series innovates by offering a processing speed far superior to the best standards on the market. With a CMOS camera (max resolution: 4800 x 3600) that captures 50 frames per second, the new REMAX V graphics engine selects the different focus positions and the sharpest data for each pixel to generate fully crisp images on the screen. This virtually eliminates the focusing time. The processing speed applies to the wide variety of features available. The in-depth composition is thus very fast. This feature provides a completely sharp image even if the target has a relief. The VHX series is able to automatically focus with each shift in the field of view, and then quickly create a compositional image in depth. The assembly function allows you to get an image of 20,000 x 20,000 pixels in a few seconds, whereas for the previous version, several minutes were needed. It is also possible to combine super-high resolution mode (blue light) with HDR to optimize image accuracy and contrast. Note that the HDR function that allows to give a closer and more natural rendering of colors has been further improved by now freeing itself from the phenomena of halo.
Compared to conventional microscopes, ergonomics and productivity are much higher. Virtually everything is controllable via remote control. The digital microscope of the VHX Series -5000 automatically manages sharpness, contrasts, saturated areas. It obtains, immediately, high-quality images allowing observations often impossible with other equipment. The user interface has been further improved. A few icons are all it takes to activate all the right functions. The lenses are equipped with a connection that allows immediate recognition. The lens tip-down is achieved in a few seconds without a cable. 3D analyses have also been perfected with an analytical function of form and measurement. Finally, the screen size is now 23 inches.
The work is thus much more productive and less painful than with a conventional microscope: it is no longer necessary to adapt the posture to the eyes. Sharing files and images, as well as exporting measured data, allows for more efficient work. Note that the VHX-5000 allows you to set user sessions while maintaining the settings of lighting conditions, making repeat observations that are independent of users.
With a 0.1 x-5000x widening range, the VHX series allows for a wide range of macro and microscopic observation. Many lighting techniques are also supported: by transmission, full or partial annular to bring out the relief, by differential interferential contrast (DIC) and especially the new light field and dark field mixture to get the best rendering of each of these lights on a single image. It is a software pilot, in fact reproducible.
