Hexagon Metrology has announced the RS3, an upgrade package that significantly improves the performance of the Romer Absolute Arm with an integrated laser scanner.
Available with all new Romer Absolute Arm SI portable measurement systems or as an upgrade kit for customers already using such equipment, the RS3 doubles the scanning capabilities of the previous RS2 model, cutting the time to inspect equivalent parts by about half. Point cloud density has also increased. This translates into more than nine times the acquisition speed of the RS2 version, providing faster, more detailed scans without sacrificing accuracy. Users also benefit from the latest RDS software version's Smart technology feature. This allows for real-time control of the arm and reduces mean time to repair.
Starting April 20, 2015, all new Romer Absolute Arm units with integrated scanners will come standard with the RS3 scanner. Customers who wish to upgrade an existing RS2 system to the RS3 integrated scanner should contact their local Hexagon Metrology Service Center.
