The evolution of survey technologies has changed the way professionals work. Acquisition solutions have been simplified and democratized, especially as the cost of professional laser scanners has dropped considerably with the launch of Focus3D scanners in 2010 andFaro's Freestyle 3D this year. In order to accompany this change, Faro is organising from May to September 2015 a "Tour de France of 3D Scanning" on the theme of the survey of the future in order to give professionals new insights into the use of scanning devices and dot clouds as part of topographic surveys. The kick-off will be given to INSA Strasbourg on 19 May.
The concept of the Tour de France is simple: experts in 3D scanning and modelling present the different acquisition methods and then organize a workshop-demonstration on the equipment in order to meet all needs in a precise and relevant way. The processing chains and all possible renderings will also be treated. These days are also an opportunity for professionals to exchange with other companies that share the same problems and will take place under the sign of conviviality with a breakfast or buffet offered and regular breaks.
The Tour de France of 3D Digitalisation is organized in partnership with Autodesk, kubit, INSA Strasbourg and distributors such as Atlancad or Kallisto who will bring their expertise and present their projects.
Typical day program:
- Presentation and explanations of 3D laser scanner technology: from acquiring a point cloud to software processing with3D Focus and Freestyle3D
