From the artificial heart to mammography, prosthetics, traceability of anaillaries and medical beds, Cetim's activity is in many ways at the heart of the research and innovation work of companies in the medical sector. Cetim benefits in all these areas from two key elements: the multidisciplinary skills of its teams on all mechanical technologies and the particular expertise of the Saint-Étienne teams, preferred partners of the CHU and the region's industrialists grouped within the medical technology cluster and the regional I-Care cluster.
On June 17, Cetim inaugurates its new biomechanics laboratory, based on its Saint-Etienne site: a laboratory dedicated to the mechanical characterization of orthopedic implants (static, wear, fatigue). His team works mainly on joint prostheses (hip, knee, shoulder, ankle, wrist, elbow, spine...) but also on other implantable medical devices. The goal is to design the most biocompatible, durable and functional prosthesis possible and to facilitate the surgical procedure so that it is as minimally traumatic as possible.
Participants will also be able to visit all the equipment on the site dedicated to the choice and implementation of materials for the medical, as well as those concerning processes of processing, assembly and cleaning... Not to mention the fields of robotics, mecatronics, measurements, simulations and tests.
