The new QuantumX MX840B universal measurement amplifier from HBM Test and Measurement (HBM), used in many sectors, combines precision and flexibility of use, and supports IEPE transducers (current-powered piezoelectric transducers).
It can be used universally, whatever the type of measurement variable: mechanical, thermal and electrical, right up to hydraulic quantities (force, elongation, acceleration, torque, speed, temperature, voltage, current, pressure, flow). The universal measuring amplifier processes every signal and delivers the right response for virtually every measurement and test task. The QuantumX MX840B module further enhances its functionality with universal inputs with automatic channel setting (TEDS).
In addition, the new module supports current-powered piezoelectric sensors (IEPE/ICP) on each channel. With a measurement speed of 40 ks/s and a bandwidth of 7 kHz, it is also suitable for the measurement and analysis of electrical oscillations, mechanical vibrations and noise in the time, frequency and angle domains. Like all Quantum modules, the new MX840B can be operated synchronously and decentralized up to 100 m via Ethernet and PTP. This brings measurement technology closer to the point of measurement and enables it to be easily integrated into networks.
Thanks to its flexibility, the universal measuring amplifier can be used both mobile and stationary in a variety of applications, for example in function and durability test constructions, or for power and efficiency testing of drives.
