Hexagon Metrology announces the launch of an all-new jogbox control panel that provides users with a more intuitive and user-friendly means of communicating with Leitz coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
The eagerly-awaited redesign is based on a modern, tablet-like design offering improved ergonomics, combined with a central touchscreen and two joystick control elements. The wireless equipment incorporates rechargeable batteries and is supplied with a mains-powered docking station, which can be placed on an adjustable, mobile stand. All machine control functions are displayed on the jogbox screen via a software application running on Android. This design makes control more intuitive, facilitating the operator's work and reducing the need for training.
" In developing this new jogbox, we drew inspiration from the mobile devices we see in our everyday environment.notes Micha Neininger, Product Manager at Hexagon Metrology. Today, we're used to the flexibility of laptops and tablets. We want to have a system that we can charge on a docking station and take out to continue using it. This new jogbox is used rather like a smartphone. It's a unique CMM control unit that's a pleasure to use. "
The redesigned jogbox will be available with the new Leitz CMMs from July.
