Since the release of the first compact pressure transmitter in 2012, Krohne has evolved its own "pressure" range. At Achema 2015, the manufacturer unveils a complete range for service, hydrostatic and differential pressures. The new Optibar series includes a range of ceramic or metal measuring cell pressure transmitters, membrane separators for specific applications, primary elements and accessories for service flow, level or pressure applications - from transmitters alone to complete measurement points.
The range includes ceramic or metal measuring cell pressure transmitters for standard applications: the Optibar PC 5060 with ceramic capacitive measuring cell is intended for all applications working up to relative pressures of 100 bar. The Optibar PM 5060 with a fully welded metal measuring cell and process fitting is used for high pressures of up to 1,000 bar, aseptic processes, and, in combination with membrane separators, for high temperatures or in the case of corrosive applications. Krohne also offers compact and ultra-compact transmitters for OEM (builders) applications, for example.
The Optibar DP 7060 differential pressure transmitter (DP) is at the centre of the transmitter range. It can be used for throughput, level or pressure service applications up to 420 bar. The built-in absolute pressure measurement allows you to do without any additional sensors for flow and level applications, for example, to measure the pressure of backflow in closed/pressurized tanks. The lowest pressure measurement range of 10 mbar is ideally suited for applications with tighter measurement scales, and rapid response times allow for use in the case, for example, of pulsed flows.
All Optibar PC, PM and DP transmitters are based on a modular concept and share interchangeable cases, electronics, display and adjustment modules. It is then possible to respond, with a single platform, to the different requirements such as the concepts of intrinsic /anti-flame or communication options by 4... 20 mA HART 7 / HART SIL 2/3, Foundation fieldbus, Profibus PA.
For measuring DP volume or flow-mass of liquids, gas or steam, KROHNE offers a wide range of primary elements to complement measurement points with adapted and pre-configured components from a single source. It is possible to cover measuring product temperatures of -200 degrees Celsius, service pressures up to 420 bar, and DN25 line diameters... 12 000. As primary elements, there are medium-sized Pitot tubes that are a simple, economical and time-stable alternative to orifice plates. Pitot tubes are particularly suitable for applications requiring low load loss, when renovating existing pipes for flow measurement, for line diameters > DN 300, or in the case of low-pressure gas. The range also includes water calibrated transmitters for small diameters and low measurement uncertainty, a flow calculator, optional pressure and temperature compensation, as well as accessories for safe and easy assembly of pressure transmitters in the process, such as valves and manifolds, condensation pots or generic accessories. All DP flow measurers can be calibrated in water up to DN 3000.
Hydrostatic pressure is used to measure liquid level, density or liquid-liquid interface in tanks of any size, open and pressurized. The Optibar modular product line offers a complete portfolio of pressure and DP transmitters, membrane separators and accessories for measuring liquids and sludge, corrosive or not, up to 450oC and 420 bar. As a simple solution for level measurement in the case of wells or reservoirs, there are submerged probes. A wide range of process fittings, including various hygienic fittings for a hygienic installation without a dead zone, meets the needs of the most diverse industries.
The modular product Optibar also covers service pressure applications for measuring relative pressure in pipes or tanks of -1.1000 bar and the absolute pressure of 0.600 bar. More than 250 threaded, bridle and aseptic process fittings are available for different industries, including special materials. As a standard, transmitters cover process temperatures of up to 150 degrees Celsius without membrane separators. For temperatures of up to 450 degrees Celsius or corrosive measuring products, there are Optibar DS membrane separators, if any preconfigured with direct, capillary or hair/direct combined mounting.
