It's a transaction that took place in the Spring, but was only revealed in the last few days. The inventor of the chromatic confocal sensor, Stil, embodied by its founder Joseph Cohen-Saban, is turning a new page in its history with the sale of the company.
Founded in 1993 to ensure an industrial future for this new measurement concept, the company is now owned by an investment fund and will continue to be managed by its founder for the next two years.
Joseph-Cohen Saban remains at the Aix-en-Provence site, but has welcomed Cosimi Corleto as his new deputy general manager. For the latter, accustomed to large multinationals (Solartron, Ametek...), he wanted to give a new spirit to his career by putting his skills to work for a French SME. Convinced that Stil had a bright future ahead of it, he decided to support the company's development and capitalize on his expertise in international trade.
For Joseph-Cohen Saban, it's a beneficial equation. Despite takeover proposals from other foreign industrialists, this "former May 68" as he calls himself, wanted to perpetuate his company by entrusting it to French capital, which would ensure the stability of the 40 jobs created in Provence over 20 years.
