Krohne extends its range of process analysis probes with three new Smartpat probes for conductivity measurement in liquids: Smartpat cond 1200, 3200 and 5200.
Launched in 2013, Smartpat is a range of 2-wire loop-powered probes with integrated converter technology. Using a standard VP cable, all Smartpat probes can be connected directly to the control system via 4...20 mA/HART 7. This offers advantages in terms of cost and handling of each measuring point. No need for a remote converter, Smartpat probes can be configured off-line via PACTware FDT/DTM, on-site with a portable HART console, or via an optional 2-wire converter powered by the current loop.
Designed for the water and wastewater industry, the Smartpat cond 1200 probe (measuring range for cell constant c=1: 100 µS/cm...20 mS/cm) is used for process monitoring and control in water treatment plants (industrial and drinking water), for quality monitoring and for filter monitoring limit values.
Smartpat cond 3200 (measuring range for cell constants c=0.1: 1...1000 µS/cm, c=0.01: 0.05...10 µS/cm) is designed for quality measurement of condensate, cooling water and boiler feedwater in power plants. It can also be used for reverse osmosis applications, ion exchanger monitoring, deionization processes or dealinization in semiconductor manufacturing, for example.
Smartpat cond 5200 (measuring range for cell constant c=1: 10 µS/cm...15 mS/cm) is designed for use on separation processes in water or wastewater treatment in the chemical, petrochemical and water/wastewater industries.
Each Smartpat probe is designed specifically for its field of application: approvals and certificates range from installation in potentially explosive atmospheres to Zone 0 and hygienic areas. Alongside its range of probes, Krohne also presents a range of accessories, including loop-powered displays, USB interface cables, junction boxes, a 2-wire converter, standard solutions, probe cables and mounting systems.
