Krohne expands its range of process analysis probes and introduces its three new Smartpat probes for measurement of conductive conductivity in liquids: Smartpat cond 1200, 3200 and 5200.
Launched in 2013, Smartpat is a range of 2-wire sensors powered by the current loop with integrated converter technology. Using a standard VP cable, all Smartpat sensors can be connected directly to the control-control system by 4... 20 mA/HART 7. This has advantages in terms of cost and handling of each measurement point. No more deported converters, Smartpat sensors can be configured offline via PACTware FDT/DTM, on-site with a portable HART console, or via an optional 2-wire converter powered by the current loop.
Aimed at the water and wastewater industry, the Smartpat cond 1200 probe (measurement scale for a c-1 cell constant: 100 S/cm... 20 mS/cm) allows monitoring and process control at water treatment plants (industrial and drinking), monitoring quality and limit values for filtering monitoring.
Smartpat cond 3200 (measurement scale for cell constants c-0.1: 1... 1000 S/cm, c-0.01: 0.05... 10 S/cm) is intended to measure the quality of condensate, cooling water and boiler feed water in power plants. It can also be used for applications on reverse osmosis, ion exchanger monitoring, deionization processes, or desalination in the manufacture of semiconductors for example.
Smartpat cond 5200 (measurement scale for cell constant c-1: 10 S/cm... 15 mS/cm) is designed for use on separation processes when treating water or wastewater in the chemical, petrochemical and wastewater industries.
Each Smartpat probe is designed specifically for its field of application: approvals and certificates range from installation in explosive atmosphere zones to zone 0, to hygienic areas. With its range of sensors, Krohne also features a range of accessories, including current loop displays, USB interface cables, connector boxes, a 2-wire converter, standard solutions, sensor cables and assembly systems.
