Hexagon Metrology announces the launch of a new model of the versatile Global coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Designed in collaboration with the Pininfarina design firm, this new high-performance machine focuses on speed and efficiency to satisfy manufacturers who demand precise, high-performance tactile scanning.
Building on the solid foundation of the Global range, the Global Evo introduces a series of new technologies to increase speed without sacrificing performance. The Compass system, a vibration-reduction technology made up of hardware and software components, is a key element that acts as a suspension system for the CMM. With Compass, the machine can effectively compensate for vibrations caused by its own movements, enabling high-speed scanning without loss of accuracy. Accompanied by the Scan Pilot firmware, which guarantees fast, rigorous measurements even when scanning complex, unfamiliar profiles, Compass gives the Global EVO its unrivalled scanning performance.
It is also the first CMM to include FLy2 Mode, Hexagon Metrology's next-generation trajectory-optimizing technology. Automatically generating and integrating the most efficient trajectory between points, Fly2 Mode guarantees smooth movements and reduces program execution times.
"Global Evo is all about saving time and moneynotes Anna Maria Izzi, Bridge CMM Manager at Hexagon Metrology. The integrated technologies are designed for fast processing, offering the best scanning performance and efficiency to reduce measurement time. The machine also features our new Eco Mode energy-saving function, designed to reduce total operating costs. With the Global EVO, we have developed a CMM that supports manufacturers in their goal of increasing productivity while maintaining quality. "
