The Afnor Group provides all companies and local authorities with a free tool to measure and compare their environmental performance on 6 criteria: waste, air, water, energy, biodiversity and environmental management.
All companies (VSEs, SMEs, ETIs, large corporations), local authorities and government bodies have a duty to reduce their environmental impact and combat climate change. Indiko Environmental Performance will help them to identify, in a simple way, ways to take action.
The tool is based on an online questionnaire. Data recorded before January 29, 2016 will be analyzed and returned in February 2016, in the form of a personalized and confidential report. The results will then be available in real time. The dashboard is made up of 29 indicators defined by environmental experts from the Afnor Group, with the help of students from ESAIP. They based their work in particular on the ISO 14031 standard (Environmental performance evaluation - Guidelines).
You don't need any certification or label to find it useful. However, companies with ISO 14001 (environmental management) certification will identify an immediate benefit: Indiko Environmental Performance is an operational means of measuring environmental performance, as required by the new version of the ISO 14001 standard published in September.
Objective: clarify choices for action
Participants can compare their results with the averages of other companies in 26 identified sectors: agri-food, automotive, aeronautics, banking and insurance, chemicals/oil, construction, equipment, hotels, industry, public sector, transport... They can then easily decide to reduce their waste, water or diesel consumption... Indiko Environmental Performance does not define objectives: it's up to the organization to do so, according to its results, constraints and strategy.
The stakes are high: in addition to the direct environmental benefits, measuring and improving our environmental performance helps us to improve our products and services, save money and meet the expectations of our stakeholders.
