The Afnor Group provides all businesses and communities with a free tool to measure and compare their environmental performance on 6 criteria: waste, air, water, energy, biodiversity and environmental management.
All companies (TPE, SMEs, ETIs, large enterprises), local authorities and administrations aim to reduce their environmental impacts and combat climate change. Indiko Environmental Performance will help them to identify, simply, ways to act.
The tool is based on an online questionnaire. The data recorded before 29 January 2016 will be analysed and returned in February 2016, in the form of a personalised and confidential report. The results will be available in real time thereafter. The returned dashboard consists of 29 indicators defined by environmental experts from the Afnor group, with the help of ESAIP students. In particular, they relied on ISO 14031 (Environmental Performance Assessment - Guidelines).
You don't have to have a certification or a label to find a use for it. Nevertheless, ISO 14001 certified companies (environmental management) will identify an immediate benefit: Indiko Environmental Performance is an operational way to measure its environmental performance, as requested by the new version of ISO 14001 published in September.
The aim is to inform the choices to act
The participant can compare his results with the averages of other companies in 26 sectors identified: agri-food, automotive, aeronautics, banking and insurance, chemistry/oil, construction, equipment, hospitality, industries, public sector, transport... It can thus easily decide to reduce its waste, its consumption of water or diesel... Indiko Environmental Performance does not set goals: it is up to the organization to do so, depending on its results, its constraints and its strategy.
The challenge is high: in addition to direct environmental benefits, measuring and improving its environmental performance leads to the development of its products, services, savings and meeting the expectations of its stakeholders.
