It's not always easy or obvious to identify the origin of a water leak or damp ingress. Damage can be obvious on a living room ceiling, but moisture can come from a shower leak or an upstairs bedroom window. Sometimes, signs of dampness are not visible at all.
Flir has just announced the MR176 infrared hygrometer with IGM (infrared guided measurement) technology. It precisely indicates to sanitation and restoration professionals where to measure humidity. The MR176 has all the measurement functions required to check for moisture and remedy it quickly, before it becomes necessary to break everything down.
The MR176 is a top-of-the-range hygrometer with a built-in thermal camera that visually guides water damage experts to the precise spot where further testing and investigation is required. In this way, they detect problems more quickly, especially those that would go unnoticed with a conventional hygrometer. A quick thermal analysis enables them to identify where the evaporation process is not optimal, and so fine-tune dehumidifiers and fans, so that the room is completely dry within a few days. The MR176 offers the flexibility required for both imaging and thermal measurements. It features tip and tip-less measurements, four color palettes for thermal imaging, customizable environmental and humidity measurements on the thermal image, and a built-in thermo-hygrometer with a field-replaceable relative humidity/temperature sensor.
