It is not always easy or obvious to identify the origin of a water leak or moisture input. Damage can be obvious to the ceiling of a living room, but moisture can come from a leak in the shower or from the window of an upstairs bedroom. Sometimes the signs of moisture are completely invisible.
Flir has just announced the release of the MR176 infrared hygrometer with IGM technology (infrared-guided measurement). It accurately tells sanitation and rehabilitation professionals where to measure moisture. The MR176 has all the measurement functions required to check for moisture and to correct it quickly before it is necessary to break everything.
The MR176 is a high-end hygrometer with a built-in thermal imaging camera that visually guides water damage experts to the precise location where additional testing and research is needed. In this way, they detect problems more quickly, especially those that go unnoticed with a conventional hygrometer. A quick thermal analysis allows them to identify areas where the evaporation process is not optimal, and thus to fine-tune the setting of dehumidifiers and fans, so that the part is completely dry in a few days. The MR176 offers the required flexibility in both imaging and thermal measurements. It allows measurements with or without a tip, includes four color palettes for thermal imaging, environmental and humidity measurements customizable to the thermal image, as well as a built-in thermo-hygrometer with a reflectable humidity/temperature sensor replaceable in the field.
