Kistler is adding a new member to its type 4080 family of piezoresistive absolute pressure sensors: the 4080AT model combining pressure and temperature measurement functions. This new M6 miniature sensor is even more advanced than its predecessors: the dimensions are reduced, the temperature compensation range is extended to 150oC, and the accuracy of the measurements is further improved.
Suitable for all applications, this sensor has a PT1000 temperature sensor and integrates signal processing. It was first developed to withstand the harsh environment of motor racing, but also meets the requirements of test benches and can be installed directly on vehicle. The 4080AT performs reliable measurements of hydraulic, water and oil cooling systems, detecting potential problems in advance, optimizing system designs and managing critical operating conditions in real time.
Temperature sensor and integrated signal processing
The 4080AT model features a high-precision piezoresistive pressure module. Thanks to its separate membrane measuring element, the sensor can function reliably and ensure excellent measurement accuracy and signal quality. The additional integrated PT1000 probe allows dynamic temperature measurements in fluids up to 200oC. The 4080AT offers very good flexibility to connect to acquisition systems thanks to a unique concept including signal processing and analog voltage output ranging from 0.2 to 4.4 VDC (pressure) and 0.5 to 4.5 VDC (temperature).
Optimizing vehicle integration, extended temperature compensation
Kistler developed this sensor by prioritizing its simple integration on a vehicle. Special and ongoing efforts have minimized their size and improved accuracy. Optimized computational algorithms have also allowed an increase in temperature compensation reaching 150oC in operation!
Universal use
With its pressure ranges of 5, 10 and 20 bars, the 4080AT adapts to all applications, for example for low-pressure applications of hydraulic circuits, water cooling and oil. Like the 4080A, the 4080AT is FIA-approved and can be delivered in different versions with a LEMO connector or deported cable.
Compatible with all other Kistler 4080 products
The development of the 4080AT was based on the absolute pressure sensor M6 (Type 4080A) and therefore mechanical compatibility as well as electrical compatibility with other members of the 4080A family are perfectly guaranteed.
