Trescal announced last week the acquisition of three metrology companies: Laboratorio MCI (Spain), Quality Systems Laboratory, Inc. (USA) and MEC Q (Brazil). These acquisitions represent an additional turnover of 8 million euros.
Laboratorio MCI's expertise and excellent reputation in defence and aeronautics will strengthen Trescal's offer to its clients in these sectors. Its two laboratories, located in Toledo and Seville, complement the current network of Trescal in Spain.
The acquisition of Quality Systems Laboratory allows Trescal to establish itself in Florida, a key state for the aerospace and pharmaceutical industries. The company's technical skills - particularly in mass, temperature and volume - will better serve these fast-growing sectors.
With seventeen accredited domains and five laboratories in the country's main industrial regions (Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Bahia), MEC Q is the leader in the Brazilian metrology market. The automotive and petrochemical sectors account for more than half of the company's turnover. Trescal will rely on the two founders, Mario Cia and Douglas Camargo, to continue its development in South America.
Guillaume Caroit, General Secretary of the Trescal Group, said: "These acquisitions are fully in line with our strategy, consolidating our position as a world leader in metrology services to support our customers where they are. Another acquisition is likely to be announced before the end of the year. Thibault Basquin, Managing Director Ardian Mid Cap Buyout, added: "These acquisitions are in line with Trescal's ambitious buy-and-build strategy, which continues to identify key targets for its development in new markets and geographies. »
These acquisitions were made with the support of Trescal's majority shareholder, Ardian, the independent private equity firm. These are the11th,12th and 13th acquisitions since Ardian bought Trescal in July 2013.
