Gilles Bernardeau, 56, is appointed Executive Director of Cerib (Centre for The Study and Research of the Concrete Industry). He succeeds Marc Lebrun, who has held this position since 2008 and who will continue missions within the framework of European relations.
With a master's degree in solid chemistry, Gilles Bernardeau has spent most of his professional career in the field of building materials and the concrete products industry, in particular.
This journey begins within the cement industry. He then joined the prefabricated concrete industry before assuming responsibilities at the Afnor. During these years, he developed his technical and managerial skills, particularly in the fields of quality, standardization, but also concrete material and constructive solutions.
In 2007, he joined Cerib as Director of Industrial Quality to develop the activities of metrology, product testing, standardization, certifications and CE marking. In 2012, he beed Deputy General Manager of the Centre, in charge of the management of three operational branches, the fire test centre and the concrete industry standardization office. During these years, he brought his strategic vision to Cerib and the prefabricated concrete industry in a changing environment and put his managerial skills at the service of the centre's management.
A man of dialogue and conviction, Gilles Bernardeau is also very involved in many sectoral bodies related to standardization, construction actors or continuous improvement. He leads the European working group CEN/TC 229 - WG4 - concrete structural products.
