Pieme is an EMC and radio laboratory, created in 2012 with the support of the Pégase cluster (PACA aeronautics competitiveness cluster) and in partnership with Airbus Helicopters. Located in Marignane (13), Pieme follows on from the activities of the CCRM (common microwave resource center) opened in 1997.
Its director, Philippe Pignet, a doctor in electronics who joined the company in 1998, is continuing his adventure with the Emitech group. This recognized expert in electromagnetic compatibility, a former researcher at the LRPE from 1986 to 1990, subsequently worked for the aerospace helicopter division, then Eurocopter France (1990 - 1994), DCN Toulon (1994 - 1995) and Aérospatiale Cannes (until 1998). His career has led him to lead and manage numerous industrial projects in the fields of EMC and microwave frequencies, while pursuing applied research activities and giving courses and training at universities and engineering schools.
The Pieme laboratory has 2 Faraday cages, including a very large reverberation chamber, enabling tests to be carried out at 80 MHz and above, in compliance with Airbus specifications. Based at the Technoparc des Florides, France's second-largest aeronautical park, the company carries out EMC tests on military and civil aviation equipment, as well as normative and pre-qualification tests for CE marking. It also offers EMC studies and consultancy services, as well as inter- and intra-company training courses.
The company employs 2 people and has annual sales of almost 300 k€. A job advertisement for a new test technician has already been launched. With more than 310 employees and projected 2016 sales of 30.3 M€, the Emitech group is a key player in testing equipment for all industrial sectors.
For Pieme, in search of development prospects, the choice of the Emitech Group means that we can now offer our customers a comprehensive range of products for the different environments required for qualification (mechanical, climatic and physico-chemical), and for product approval in Europe (CE marking) and the rest of the world (OC scheme, access to trademarks).
For the Emitech Group, the arrival of Pieme as 5e subsidiary is synonymous with a strategic location with strong growth potential. New, modern buildings of almost 800 m2 located in an 87-hectare zone dedicated to high-tech companies (Daher Aerospace, Airbus Helicopters, Akka...) can accommodate climatic-mechanical equipment as well as a third Faraday cage.
Manufacturers in the South of France are already benefiting from synergies between the Emitech laboratories in Lyon and Montpellier, the Environne'Tech test center in Bourgoin-Jallieu and Pieme near Marseille, and from the Group's global offering.
