Pieme is a CEM and radio laboratory, created in 2012 supported by the Pegasus division (aeronautical competitiveness cluster in PACA) and in partnership with Airbus Helicopters. Located in Marignane (13), Pieme is a continuation of the activities of the CCRM (common microwave resource centre) opened in 1997.
Its director, the doctor of electronics Philippe Pignet arrived in 1998, thus continuing his adventure with the group Emitech. This renowned expert in electromagnetic compatibility, former researcher at the LRPE from 1986 to 1990 later worked in the aerospace division helicopter then Eurocopter France (1990 - 1994), DCN Toulon (1994 - 1995) and Aerospace Cannes (until 1998). His career has led him to lead and pilot many industrial projects related to CEM and microwaves while pursuing applied research activities and providing courses and training in universities and engineering schools.
The Pieme laboratory has 2 Faraday cages, including a very large reverberating chamber that can carry out tests from 80 MHz that meets the Airbus specification. Hosted in the Technoparc of Florida, France's second largest aviation park, the company conducts CEM tests on military and civil aviation equipment as well as pre-qualification and pre-qualification tests as part of the CE marking. It also offers education and advice in CEM as well as inter- and intra-company training.
The company employs 2 people with an annual turnover of nearly 300k euros. A job offer for the hiring of a new test technician has already been initiated. With more than 310 employees with a forecast 2016 turnover of 30.3 million euros, the Emitech Group is a key player in the testing of equipment in all industrial sectors.
For Pieme in search of a development perspective, the choice of the Emitech Group now allows its customers to offer a global offer for the different environments required by the qualifications (mechanical, climatic and physical-chemical) and for the registration of products in Europe (CE marking) and in the rest of the world (OC scheme, access to brands).
For the Emitech Group, the arrival of Pieme as the5th subsidiary is synonymous with strategic implementation with strong opportunities for evolution. The new and modern buildings of nearly 800 m2 located in an area of 87 hectares dedicated to high-tech companies (Daher Aerospace, Airbus Helicopters, Akka ...) can accommodate climato-mechanical means as well as a third cage of faraday.
Already, industrialists in the South of France are benefiting from synergies between the Emitech laboratories in Lyon and Montpellier, the Environne'Tech test centre in Bourgoin-Jallieu and Pieme near Marseille and thus the group's overall offer.
