Creaform launches its new portable three-dimensional measurement machine (MMT), the HandyPROBE Next system. This new generation of optical inspection solution with contact meets the increasingly stringent quality control requirements on manufacturers' production lines.

The HandyPROBE Next system offers increased productivity and efficiency through a more factory-friendly design and allows for unprecedentedly accurate parts inspection anywhere. Quality control experts who need portable tools to validate the dimensional compliance of production tools, templates, sets, subsets and finished products in the factory will benefit from the following improvements:

  • Measures twice as accurate: Volumetric performance of 0.064 mm (compliant with ASME B89.4.22) regardless of environmental instability, thanks to TRUaccuracy technology.
  • Instant measurement: HandyPROBE Next wireless sensor allows instantaneous capture of coordinates, without the constraint of a fixed measurement installation, to allow manufacturers to apply the latest improvements in quality standards
  • A larger, expandable measurement volume: can be extended easily and dynamically, unlike measuring arms, which require conventional leapfrogging
  • A robust new ergonomic design, ensuring factory reliability: delivers a better user experience that saves time and reduces costs
  • Available in Standard and Elite versions: Users can choose a model that matches their specific needs
  • And more! Detailed information on these new features and technical specifications are available on the website.

"Manufacturers need to incorporate more and more rigorous quality controls into their production processes, while remaining as effective as ever. The HandyPROBE Next system, which meets current requirements for the efficient production of premium products, offers versatility, portability and factory accuracy that is not available in articulated arms or fixed MMTs. Our solution detects all quality problems that, if ignored, can lead to production and approval delays for parts, manufacturing defects and unanted costs," explains Daniel Brown, Senior Product Manager at Creaform.

Included in the complete Creaform quality control solution, factory users can add 3D scanning features to their inspection sequence using the MetraSCAN 3D portable MMT scanner. This solution is also fully compatible with VXinspect, Creaform's dimensional inspection software.

Creaform's quality control technologies will be presented live at CONTROL 2016 at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre in Stuttgart, Germany, Hall 5, booth 5108, from 26 to 29 April.
