Designed for industrial vision and scientific imaging applications in microscopy and macroscopy, the new Tucsen TrueChrome Metrics camera is equipped with a fully integrated image-taking and measurement system, freeing the user from computer use.
By connecting a mouse to the camera and connecting the HDMI output to a screen, you have access to a wide range of tools to perform multiple-shape measurements directly on HD images made. The camera makes precise measurements, with a resolution of 10 nanometers, and retains this accuracy even in very demanding working conditions.
Sony's 2.3-megapixel CMOS Exmor sensor generates high-definition images. It transmits color images directly to the connected screen at a speed of 60 frames per second in 1080 pixels. This allows the user to manipulate images very easily, without lag or slowing down. An SD card allows you to record and view 6-megapixel images and full HD video sequences, with measurements taken. Thanks to the image comparison mode, it is possible to simultaneously view the current image and an image already recorded to compare them.
With a very wide exposure time range (1 ms to 10 s) as well as 20 levels of gain setting, the camera can be used for a multitude of applications, including in the field of low-light fluorescence imaging. An extremely efficient 3D noise reduction system can compensate for the increase in image noise during very long exposures, and thus guarantees perfect sharpness, especially for images rich in detail.
The camera also offers an automatic setting optimization function that improves the quality of images regardless of the application. Exposure times, color saturation and automatic white balance allow for excellent images with minimal manual settings, for bright field applications, such as in biology, or dark field, for example, in the case of birefingent crystals. Adjustments can also be done manually if necessary.
The TrueChrome Metrics incorporates an extremely powerful measurement tool that measures a variety of shapes such as freehand lines, rectangles, polygons, single or double circles. It measures point-line distances, angles, the length of curved or straight lines, and the perimeter and area of closed figures (rectangles, polygons, circles). The results can be exported as Excel files or text on the SD card.
Easily calibrated, the camera can back up to 10 calibration files for different microscope or lens configurations. Measurements can be made in m, mm and cm for use in microscopy or macroscopy. The built-in user interface is incredibly easy to use. Only two icons appear on the screen, one for image capture and one for settings. For measurements, just click right on the current image for the menu to appear.
For users who prefer to work from a computer instead of a standalone system, it is also possible to connect the camera to a PC via a USB2.0 cable. A professional vision software application is provided with the camera and allows control of the camera from the computer, with advanced image processing functions: large dynamic range, focus stacking and image editing, full range of measurement tools as well as archiving and management functions.
