Bruno Grandjean, Chairman of the Management Board of Redex S.A, was elected President of the Fédération des Industries Mécaniques at the FIM General Meeting on June 15, 2016, for a 3-year term. He aims to build on the work accomplished by his predecessor, Jérôme Frantz, to bring the topic of industry competitiveness into the public arena.
Bruno Grandjean has set himself the task of amplifying this dynamic and contributing to a modern image of the industry: "I want to share the idea that a favorable ecosystem for industry is in the nation's interest.. " Bruno Grandjean, 52, has a dual academic and engineering background. After a Master's degree at Stanford, he began his career in 1989 as scientific attaché to the French Consulate in Chicago. Returning to France in 1991, he joined Turbomeca SA as an engineer for 3 years, before joining the Redex S.A. team. Since 2005, he has headed the Redex Group, European leader in mechatronic equipment for the steel, metallurgy and machine tool industries. In addition to his industrial activities, Bruno Grandjean has served as vice-president of the FIM and president of the mechatronics trade association Artema. He is also a board member of the Alliance pour l'Industrie du Futur, of which FIM is a key player. An active member of the Institut Montaigne, Bruno Grandjean has contributed to several of its reports on taxation, strengthening the French presence in international trade and the development of ETIs. One of the priorities of his term of office is to raise the profile of the mechanical engineering sector, promote all the companies that represent it, and attract new talent to the industry: "The digital revolution is accelerating new business models. Mechanical engineering, which incorporates all the latest technologies, has a major role to play in this transformation.".
