The group expands its production of Raman analyzers and builds a new plant dedicated to temperature measurement techniques
Endress-Hauser, a specialist in measurement techniques and process automation, has further expanded its production sites in the United States. A $9 million investment was made to expand the Raman analyzer manufacturing facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In Greenwood, Indiana, the company spent $8 million to build a plant dedicated to temperature measurement techniques.
Kaiser Optical Systems, which has been part of the Endress-Hauser group since 2013, manufactures Raman spectroscopy devices in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The analyzers, designed to examine the composition and material characteristics of solids, liquids and gases, are used in processes and in the laboratory. Endress-Hauser pursues a strategy involving the use of state-of-the-art analytics techniques in process applications and assisting clients in laboratories and in the process.
Construction of the new $9 million plant took nearly a year to achieve more than double the floor area, at 8,100 square metres. With about 100 employees worldwide, Kaiser Optical Systems is preparing for further growth. "This expansion will allow us to produce our analyzers in even greater quantities and in the quality that our international customers expect," said Tim Harrison, Managing Director of Kaiser Optical Systems.
In Greenwood, Indiana, where the U.S. sales office also sits, Endress-Hauser has been producing temperature measurement techniques and system products since 2008. The company has just invested more than USD 8 million in a very modern production plant of 3,900 m2. The new plant will produce sensor elements, thermometers and glove fingers as well as transmitters, system components and recorders.
"The new facility demonstrates Endress-Hauser's commitment to the market and to its customers in North America. It proves that we want to manufacture and deliver our services close to our customers," said Patrick McGlothlen, general manager of the plant. While producing for the domestic market in the United States, the Greenwood plant also provides customized products to customers in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Chile, quickly and flexibly.
