The welding institute is organizing a technical day on September 20, 2017 from 9:15 to 16:00 at its Villepinte premises.
This day, co-organized with Aurélien Robineau, expert metallurgist at the Welding Institute, will focus on the problems of high-temperature and cold cracking on welded assemblies.
Sectors of activity concerned :
- Energy
- Oil&Gas
- Nuclear
- Manufacturing
- Maintenance
- all industrial sectors
The day will focus on :
- Ductility Dip Cracking, LME (Liquid Metal Embrittlement), hot solidification cracking and cold cracking (hydrogen embrittlement).
- cracking mechanisms for various materials (stainless steels, non- and low-alloy steels, nickel-based alloys)
- repair approaches (nuclear) and expert cases (carbon steel)
- copper cracking due to electroerosion and zinc cracking on galvanized sheet metal.
- SRC tests to classify different refractory steels by level of sensitivity to hot cracking.
