At this year's World Water Show (IFAT) in Munich, Germany, the KSB Group will present a new feature: the online pump reception test. When purchasing large pumps, hydraulic reception tests and final control are tangible proof of their compliance with guaranteed values. In the past, customers had to go to the test benches to attend the reception test of their pumps.

As testing is usually done at the manufacturing site, this procedure is both tedious and expensive, especially in the case of international and remote projects. The online reception test developed by KSB allows the remote reception of a pump, reliably and in accordance with the standards. To do this, the tests carried out are transmitted live via a particularly protected space of the Internet. In an online meeting between the pump manufacturer and the customer, the customer can follow the live test with the camera on the test bench as well as the measurement of the characteristic curves during the test.

In addition to pressure and throughput data, the test software captures all other operating characteristics required for a MEASUREMENT that meets the DIN IN ISO 9906 test standard to determine pump performance. Measures taken may also include noise level and vibration. Ahead of the test, KSB provides the customer's test engineer with all the organization information, order specification sheets and an accurate description of the receiving test. This also includes details of the measurement instruments used, including the corresponding calibration certificates. Once the receiving test is completed, KSB e-mailed the certificates to the test engineer for signature. This proven process is implemented in accordance with reception standards.

Online reception tests are available at various KSB production sites for powertrains with a drive capacity of 10 MW and throughput of up to 21,000 m3/h. String tests with the customer's original engines, transformers and frequency dimmers are also possible.
