65 years of success for the Group
During this time, Endress+Hauser has grown from a two-person operation to a global group with over 13,000 employees. Today, the family-owned company is one of the world's leading suppliers of process and laboratory measuring instruments, automation solutions and services. The company's history is also marked by change within continuity.
On February 1, 1953, Swiss engineer Georg H Endress and German banker Ludwig Hauser laid the foundations for this success story. With a small company specializing in the sale of innovative electronic level-measuring instruments, the two men discovered a market niche. Within a short space of time, Endress+Hauser was developing its own instruments and entering more and more new fields and markets.
Today, Endress+Hauser sells its products and offers support in 125 countries, and produces in all the world's major economic regions. For many years, the company has been a complete supplier of process instrumentation. Recently, the Group has strengthened its position in process analysis through acquisitions, and entered the laboratory analysis market with the acquisition of the German company Analytik Jena. In addition to this strategic orientation, the company's development is strongly stimulated by digitalization.
The family business structure and culture continue to offer a high degree of continuity, providing a framework for the company's long-term growth and stimulating innovation. At the same time, the company is founded on clear principles and strong values. From the outset, Georg H Endress emphasized customer service through its motto: "First serve, then profit". Its trust in people and their abilities is still firmly anchored in the company.
Matthias Altendorf has been CEO of the Endress+Hauser Group since 2014, replacing Klaus Endress who took over as Chairman of the Supervisory Board after 19 years at the helm. Together with his brothers Hans-Peter Endress and Urs Endress, he represents the interests of the family, which continues to be committed to ensuring the company's lasting success.
