Eddyfi Technologies confirms acquisition of M2M (multi-element ultrasound instrumentation (PAUT) for non-destructive testing). Headquartered in Les Ulis, France, M2M has become the benchmark for high-end portable PAUT devices in recent years, thanks to its real-time total focusing (TFM) method and new products such as Gekko and Mantis.
M2M employs 60 people in France, the United States and China, and works with customers in a wide range of industrial sectors, including petrochemicals, aeronautics, power generation and manufacturing.
The acquisition of M2M will enable Eddyfi Technologies to penetrate the vast but highly competitive PAUT market, with the most advanced technology currently available in the world. In addition, the M2M China office and team will provide an excellent base for the Eddyfi Technologies group to actively expand in mainland China.
Martin Thériault, President and CEO of Eddyfi Technologies, declared: " Over the past eight years, we've built our reputation in the NDT market by focusing on advanced technologies. Through innovation and a customer-centric approach, we have become a dynamic new force in the industry. It's now time to enter the "advanced ultrasonic" space, a technique used by almost all our customers, and infuse it with a high degree of innovation and progress. We intend to invest in ultrasonic R&D and deepen our relationship with the French Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission (CEA) in order to offer ever more innovative products. "
For Philippe Benoist, President of M2M: " Until 2014, M2M focused on manufacturing PAUT systems for manufacturing integrators and laboratories. Our entry into the portable instrumentation market with the Gekko and Mantis was successful. However, M2M clearly lacked an effective global distribution network and, until now, had limited financial resources for R&D investment. Eddyfi Technologies' global sales and support organization, financial strength and R&D vision are simply what M2M and its team needed to take their business to the next level. What's more, we really liked the business unit approach. The M2M brand will remain. Our Paris facility will now be the Group's center of excellence for multi-element ultrasound, and we'll continue to control our R&D roadmap and business model. "
