The Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence division has announced the launch of a new version of HxGN Smart Quality's online measurement resource and quality data management software. This IT solution is designed to help manufacturers use aggregated quality data to optimize processes. Based on a single platform for measurement resource management and product quality, HxGN Smart Quality standardizes data from systems used at different sites to provide consistent company-wide quality information. This latest update incorporates new features that help manufacturers improve equipment efficiency, assess the capacity of the manufacturing process, and manage documents and workflows.
The new edition of HxGN Smart Quality features OEE-type features for all machines connected to HxGN Smart Quality. This allows manufacturers to evaluate and compare the overall efficiency of the equipment using standard parameters. Informing about availability and performance, it supports root cause analysis to determine the origin of a malfunction of an individual part of the equipment in accordance with the principles of total productive maintenance. The enhancement of the software's document and workflow management tools allows manufacturers to implement effective processes for measuring and minimize the risk of common operational errors. The user interface has also been enriched with an individual configurabl dashboard. Other user-friendly features, such as the ability to display parts assembly instructions inside the INSPECT module, simplify workshop operations. HxGN Smart's statistical process control functions have been complemented by Q-DAS Monitoring, which allows near-real-time visualization of measurement and process data. The software's connectivity features allow for direct interface with Heidenhain's CNC controllers, providing new opportunities for data exchange with production equipment.
