Dassault Systems announces the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire IQMS, publisher of Industrial Management Software (ERP), for $425 million. With the acquisition of this California-based company, Dassault Systems is expanding its 3DExperience platform to small and medium-sized industrial companies that wish to undertake the digital transformation of their business.
With software published by IQMS - EnterpriseIQ for on-site deployments and WebIQ for cloud (SaaS) - small and medium-sized industrial enterprises have a unified solution designed to manage business, engineering and manufacturing ecosystems by digitally and in real-time linking order processing, planning, production and delivery processes. By integrating IQMS' solutions into its 3DExperience cloud platform, Dassault Systems will provide these companies with an affordable solution to improve collaboration, production efficiency and business agility, which are essential to meet the requirements of their customers. These companies, many of which already use Solidworks, will also have the flexibility to rapidly ramp up as their business grows.
At the same time, these manufacturing companies can seize new business opportunities and create value by offering their manufacturing know-how and services to a large community of designers and engineers on Dassault Systems' 3DExperience Marketplace, the world's largest virtual plant.
"We must no longer see industry as a set of means of production, but as a process of value creation. This vision applies not only to disruptive startups and well-established companies, but also to the hundreds of thousands of small and medium-sized industrial companies producing the parts that are at the heart of the development of new consumer experiences, says Bernard Charlès, vice president and general manager of Dassault Systems. IQMS has developed an in-depth knowledge of the industry and the needs of manufacturing companies. We welcome this team as we create a new category of business solutions that expands our offering to companies similar to those that today use Solidworks. These companies will be able to seize the phenomenon of platforms and take advantage of the industry's renaissance for their growth."
