With its new integrated pressure measurement, Prowirl can serve as a central measurement point for all industrial applications of steam and gas in pipes up to a nominal diameter of DN 300. In many process industry applications, pressure and temperature are often inconsistent and fluctuate considerably.
If such effects are not compensated, this can lead to massive measurement errors and thus loss of energy and money when measuring compressible fluids such as gas and steam.
By integratedly measuring pressure and temperature, Prowirl ensures maximum measurement accuracy when determining steam density and energy content. The costly and tedious installation of four separate measuring devices for flow, pressure and temperature is now a thing of the past.
The new pressure measurement unit is available for Prowirl F (standard device), Prowirl R (low-speed) and Prowirl O (high-pressure) sensors.

Many industries use large amounts of steam, either for heating, cleaning or as an energy source. The transfer of thermal energy is only energy efficient for "saturated steam." Often, however, "wet steam" predominates because fluctuations in pressure and temperature cause water condensation, or water enters the steam pipes due to disturbances in the boiler system. The consequences are generally serious: low efficiency for energy transmission, dangerous ram blows or high corrosion by salts dissolved in the water transported.
