Maximum precision thanks to innovative new sensor
The Promass A sensor is mounted on a support which acts as a "shock absorber", effectively protecting the Coriolis measuring system from external vibrations and pipe stresses. On the other hand, the measuring tube's oscillation frequency is much higher and its oscillation behavior completely balanced. Measurement is possible from a flow rate of 8 g/min with a measurement uncertainty of ±0.1%. With an uncertainty of ±1%, it is even possible to measure at flow rates of less than 1 g/min.

Thanks to its high corrosion resistance (stainless steel, Alloy C22; NACE MR0175/MR0103), Promass A is ideal for process applications, particularly in offshore and onshore areas with aggressive saline air. The sensor can also be used for a wide range of applications in hygienic or sterile environments in the food and life sciences industries. This is ensured by various certificates and approvals (3-A, FDA, EC 1935/2004; FDA, USP Class VI, TSE/BSE) as well as the use of pharmaceutical-grade stainless steel construction.
Transmitters for easy system integration
Various transmitters are available for Promass A: Proline 200 (2-wire device), Proline 300 (4-wire device) or Proline 500 (separate version). They enable simultaneous measurement of mass flow, volume flow, density, concentration and temperature. Access to measurement and diagnostic data is possible at any time, thanks to numerous fieldbuses (EtherNet/IP, Modbus RS485, PROFIBUS DP, PROFINET, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, HART, WirelessHart) as well as freely configurable I/Os and WLAN (web server).
Heartbeat technology - for maximum operating reliability
Heartbeat Technology is a test function integrated into all Proline measuring devices. It enables permanent self-diagnosis and a metrologically traceable, TÜV-certified device check without process interruption. All this reduces complexity and risk in a plant, and increases its reliability and availability. As the Promass A measuring system has been developed in compliance with IEC 61508 (SIL), it is also ideal for use in safety-related applications.
