Endress-Hauser gets closer to its customers in Saudi ArabiaEndress-Hauser opens state-of-the-art calibration and training centre
Endress-Hauser has invested about THREE million euros in a state-of-the-art calibration and training centre in the industrial city of Jubail, Saudi Arabia, strengthening direct contact with Middle Eastern customers while supporting the country's economic development.
Saudi Arabia wants to develop the private sector and become less dependent on oil production, two key objectives of the Vision 2030 programme. "It was this vision that inspired the creation of the new calibration and training centre," said Mohammed Abdellah, Executive Director of Endress-Hauser Saudi Arabia, at the inauguration ceremony. "With this new centre, we are supporting the country in implementing these reforms and can also increase local added value by offering local solutions," he adds.
Practical training programs
The training centre includes a classroom with interactive technology, a well-equipped workshop and a field bus training laboratory. It offers hands-on training programs designed to convey knowledge of measurement technologies and digital control control systems, which are in demand in the hydrocarbon, energy, water and wastewater sectors.
Young Saudi engineers and university graduates will be able to use the facility to acquire technical know-how in line with the latest international standards. Local technical resources can improve their knowledge and remain competitive with the personalized training offered in the centre.
Economic calibration services
The 2,700-square-metre facility houses a modern calibration centre, the only supplier-managed gravity calibration centre in the region, from which Endress-Hauser will provide manufacturer-independent calibration services for measuring instruments. Endress-Hauser also offers reliable on-site calibration, which reduces costs and downtime.
"For us, it is important to be able to respond to the needs of our customers flexibly and to ensure that they are managed optimally," said Matthias Altendorf, Managing Director of the Endress-Hauser Group.
A strong presence in the Middle East
The new calibration and training centre is part of the Group's strategy. Active all over the world, Endress-Hauser continues to expand its international presence. For nearly two decades, Endress-Hauser was represented in Saudi Arabia by a local representative, Anasia Industrial Agencies. In order to optimize the support of its customers in the region, Endress-Hauser created a joint venture with Anasia in 2012, allowing the Group to be directly present and close to its customers in the region.
Endress-Hauser Saudi Arabia currently employs 50 people. The objective of this new investment is to strengthen the Group's presence in the important Saudi market, as well as in the Middle East as a whole.
