The Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence division launches its first blue laser scanning sensor for the creation of dot clouds. The HP-L-5.8 complements the Hexagon range of touch and contactless sensors for MMTs for businesses in need of a versatile and affordable fixed-line laser sensor.

The HP-L-5.8 acquires high-quality point clouds on both dark and shiny surfaces. Robust and compact, it protects the sensor from collisions and vibrations and is ideal for areas where accessibility is limited, as well as for small MMTs. "Our customers increasingly want to benefit from the speed and high measurement coverage of laser scanning on their MMT," says Christian Schorr, Hexagon product manager for MMT laser scanners. "The HP-L-5.8 is an accurate and affordable laser scanner that meets the requirements of our customers who want to transform an MMT into a multisensor machine that can easily switch between touch palping and laser scanning in the same room measurement program."

The HP-L-5.8 is fully compatible with Hexagon MMTs using PC-DMIS 2018 R2 and later versions of the software. It combines with an automatic indexing measuring head or a continuous wrist and makes the use of touch-sensitive tools very simple.
