Sensor - Detection

With its optical features, Class 1 laser, wide variety of functions and intuitive use, Sensopart's FT 55-RLAM triangulation optical sensor represents the next generation of optical sensors. The sensor is available in different working ranges of up to 1 m.

A true solution for multiple applications, the FT 55-RLAM reliably detects all types of surface states. With an analog output, 2 switching outputs, IO-Link interfaces and optional RS 485 series, it offers a wide range of connectivity. The product remains simple and easy to access thanks to its ultra-readable display. Its excellent optical features predestine the sensor to a wide variety of applications, whether in machine construction, automotive, packaging, plastics and even robotics applications.

The high detection reliability of the FT 55-RLAM is based on three peculiarities. First of all, the oval spot guarantees a very high repeatability even on metal surfaces. Secondly, the large amplification of the signal allows, in addition to objects with a shiny surface, to reliably detect black objects, which are not very reflective (with constant performance throughout the measurement area). And finally, the reliability of the measurement is amplified by adjustable signal optimizations.

The wide variety of functions of the distance measurement sensor offers the user many possibilities. Several additional functions, which are not feasible via external control during fast processes, can be easily implemented without complex manipulation - such as emitting the difference in height of a profile or saving a max or min value.

To make all these features easily accessible or usable, Sensopart has replaced the 7-segment display with an LCD screen with 3 buttons, allowing the sensor to be comfortably adjusted.

With IO-Link, Ready for Industry 4.0

As a new technology, the FT 55-RLAM sensor is ready to adapt to industry 4.0: it is equipped in series with a 5-pole connector with an IO-Link interface. Any sensor adjustment or exchange between different sensor configurations can be done easily via IO-link. The sensor is also available in 8-pole version with RS 485 interface. The latter allows the master/slave operation of two sensors, for example for the control of double layers or for the measurement of thickness.

With its many features and simplified use, SensoPart's new distance measurement sensor offers everything you need to make a process workable. The FT 55-RLAM is equipped with a compact, sturdy and waterproof metal case (IP 69/IP 67) and with very strong connectors. Accessories are well thought out, like the SensoClip clamp that allows for simple assembly and adjustment. The laser being Class 1, it also allows use without any special mounting precautions.
