Zeiss announces the 2nd edition of its student challenge!
Faced with a shortage of metrology labour, Zeiss wants to promote the profession of metrologist, exciting but still too little known. Zeiss takes to heart its mission to democratize metrology to enable students to access future occupations.
Like the first edition, the Challenge focuses on Metrology 4.0. It allows students to stimulate their creativity by proposing innovative solutions around four proposed themes in order to reinvent metrology in the industry.
This year, Zeiss is introducing the "Out of the Box" category, a free category in which the company expects futuristic projects!
Launched on September 16, 2019, the challenge is aimed at teams of 2 to 4 students at the baccalaureate level, bac 2 or bac 5. It is open to students residing in France, French-speaking Switzerland, and Maghreb countries. Three prizes (4,000 euros, 3,000 euros, 2,000 euros) and a jury prize worth 1,000 euros will be awarded. All finalists will be offered Level 1 Coffmet training and company interviews.
Up to 22 teams will be selected and announced on December 9, 2019. For this first step, participants are invited to submit a 5 slides project, in Pdf format, on the online platform by November 24 at 11:59 p.m., as well as their CV).
Selected teams will then have to submit a 15 to 20 slides file on the platform, in Pdf format, by January 31, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. Students will be accompanied by mentors to help them deepen their project. Up to 10 teams will be selected and announced on February 10, 2020.
On March 17, 2020, the 10 finalists will present their project for 15 minutes, before a jury composed of Zeiss metrologist experts and many prestigious sponsors.
