Zeiss announces the 2nd edition of its student challenge!
Faced with a shortage of metrology workers, Zeiss wants to promote the profession of metrologist, which is fascinating but still too little known. Zeiss takes to heart its mission to democratize metrology and give students access to the professions of the future.
Just like the 1st edition, the Challenge focuses on Metrology 4.0. It gives students the chance to stimulate their creativity by proposing innovative solutions around four proposed themes, with the aim of reinventing metrology in industry.
This year, Zeiss is introducing the "Out of the box" category, an open category in which the company is expecting futuristic projects!
Launched on September 16, 2019, the challenge is open to teams of 2 to 4 students at bac, bac +2 or bac +5 level. It is open to students living in France, French-speaking Switzerland and North African countries. Three prizes will be awarded (4,000 euros, 3,000 euros, 2,000 euros), as well as the jury's "Coup de Coeur" prize, worth 1,000 euros. All finalists will be offered Coffmet Level 1 training and interviews with companies.
Up to 22 teams will be selected and announced on December 9, 2019. For this first stage, participants are invited to submit a 5-slide project, in Pdf format, on the online platform before November 24 at 11:59pm, along with their CV).
The selected teams will then have to submit a 15 to 20-slide dossier in Pdf format on the platform by January 31, 2020 at 11:59 pm. Students will be accompanied by mentors to help them develop their project. Up to 10 teams will be selected and announced on February 10, 2020.
On March 17, 2020, the 10 finalists will present their project for 15 minutes, in front of a jury made up of Zeiss metrology experts and many prestigious sponsors.
