Amélie de Montchalin, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for European Affairs, visited the Institut de Soudure site in Yutz on Thursday October 17.
The visit, organized at the initiative of Moselle MP Isabelle Rauch and also attended by Didier Martin, Prefect of Moselle, highlighted the Institut de Soudure's key role as France's industrial technical center for welding and associated testing.
Abdelkrim Chehaibou, Managing Director of the association, and his teams presented the innovative technologies in which the Institut de Soudure is at the forefront, some of which have been developed as part of European projects.
Antoine Legros, Chairman of the Institut de Soudure group, also emphasized the Institut de Soudure's major role as a training center for professions in which industry has a strong need. Nearly 10,000 trainees are trained each year at its 18 centers in France. Some 2,000 of these are initially job-seekers, who are reintegrated into working life on completion of their training.
