Storage of liquids plays a major role in many industries. Liquid fertilizers or irrigation systems for agriculture, additives as well as cleaning products for the food industry or liquefiers for concrete production are just a few examples. Plastic tubs are generally used. To ensure continuous production and avoid downtime, fluids must always be available in sufficient quantities. This is where level measurement comes in.
The challenges in monitoring levels
Plastic tanks are often located in remote and widely dispersed locations. The increasing number of tanks makes the measurement even more complex. In more than 80% of all production plants, level measurement is done manually. This type of manual monitoring is both time consuming and expensive. Not to mention that very often this results in missing integrated stocks only when the tank is already empty and the production process has ceased. A better solution must clearly be considered.
Optimized inventory management - easy from the start
To meet the challenges, Endress + Hauser has developed a solution consisting of a radar level sensor and software. Inventory management is thus considerably simplified in mobile and stationary applications. Like the first 80GHz IIoT sensor, the Micropilot FWR30 combines cutting-edge technology with user-friendly digital services in one cost-effective device. Installation is simple and can be done in under three minutes. The built-in battery allows use without an external power supply.
Transparency at all times
The continuously recorded data can be viewed anytime and from anywhere via the device's cloud connection. In addition to the measured level, the user receives information on the location of his storage tanks and containers. The first wireless cloud-connected radar sensor provides factual data, where until now only guesswork was possible. This helps users to optimize their logistics and warehousing processes and save valuable time by continuously providing accessible stock information.
Scalable software applications
Depending on their needs, users can choose from a wide range of services. The Micropilot FWR30 IIoT sensor can be linked to a digital starter kit, Netilion Value ; the resulting web application, Netilion Inventory; or the global inventory management solution, SupplyCare Hosting . All digital software applications can be used on various devices (desktop computer, tablet, smartphone) and comply with the most stringent requirements for security and data protection.
