Bowen, a company specializing in the design and production of customized solutions for the defense, transport and security industries, announces the opening of a new site to consolidate its development and industrialization activities.
Located in Les Ulis, Essonne, and inaugurated on October 8, this new 3,000 m² site will accommodate employees, partners, laboratories and customers. Employees will be able to pool their skills in order to develop the synergy necessary for business growth.
In a demanding market where technologies are complex and innovative, the design cycle has to be shortened, without compromising on quality, reliability and safety. To consolidate its competitiveness, Bowen has invested €5 million over the last three years.
This new site, which is part of a strong commitment to development with a long-term vision, will also enable us to hire 10 engineers by 2022. The Bowen group is determined to grow its workforce while respecting its responsible commitments.
Bowen, a global partner
Bowen was built around the acquisitions of Pekly, Erte, EADS-Nuclétudes and Jacquelot, which bring together all the technologies required for complex radar and telecommunications equipment: RF amplifiers, signal processing and digital electronics.
Bowen, a global partner for systems integrators, has positioned itself as a gas pedal of innovation and new technologies, capable of producing complete industrial solutions for surveillance, detection and telecommunications, investing 15 % of its sales in research and development every year.
The new Les Ulis site will be dedicated to the research and development of new radar and complex radio-frequency telecommunications equipment solutions for surveillance, detection and information transmission. These radiofrequency solutions can be adapted to any environment, enabling information to be generated, processed and transmitted at high speed.
R&D benefits from an anechoic chamber to test equipment and ensure that it meets all required standards. This anechoic chamber is a unique testing space that resembles the vacuum of space, and represents an additional lever for innovation and competitiveness.
The Bowen Group relies not only on its total mastery of the industrial chain, but also on a network of partners (laboratories, expert partners and industrial, academic and institutional groupings) to optimize its capacity for innovation and responsiveness.
"This investment is in line with the Group's strong desire to develop our business and consolidate our position as a global partner for prime contractors. We benefit from a highly efficient ecosystem that will enable us to grow even stronger in the years to come. This building has been completely reconfigured to enable us to share and pool our knowledge with our partners and customers to meet new challenges".comments Bowen CEO Juvelino Da Silva.
In 2019, Bowen, a member of French Fab and the Gican, ASTech and Gifas competitiveness clusters, achieved sales of over €10m and aims to double this by 2030.
At the inauguration, the departments of Eure-et-Loir, where Bowen's historic production site is located, and Essonne were represented by Laure de la Raudière, MP for the 3rd constituency of Eure-et-Loir, and Vincent Delahaye, Senator for Essonne.
Isabelle Perdereau, Regional Councillor and Chair of the Economic Development and Innovation Commission, was present on behalf of the Île-de-France region, as was Victor Provot, Mayor of Thiron-Gardais.
The historic Bowen site, based in Thiron-Gardais, celebrates its 100th anniversary next year.
