According to Balluff, unscheduled downtime and production errors can now be avoided with its BCM multifunction monitoring sensor. This intelligent sensor provides a variety of status information, replacing costly manual inspections.
The Balluff multifunction sensor monitors a variety of physical variables such as vibration, temperature, relative humidity and ambient pressure, processes them and then supplies the data via IO-Link. Its strengths: integrated data processing and configurable data pre-processing, configurable events and status indicators, fast and easy-to-integrate connection to IO-Link, small footprint for the tightest of spaces.
What's more, the sensor is capable of communicating its status, keeping you constantly informed of its temperature, operating hours and start-up cycles.
The standardized IO-Link protocol makes it easy to parameterize the sensor to adapt its processing to the specific application. The process data structure enables five types of measured or pre-processed data to be freely configured and cyclically transmitted.
It is also possible to make an acyclic request for variables to process additional statistics.
In addition, automatic monitoring of measurement or process variables can be used to define warning or alarm thresholds. This generates alert messages to warn when problematic events occur.
According to Balluff, "the new Balluff Condition Monitoring - BCM sensor makes an essential contribution to the reliability of any equipment and considerably improves the efficiency of the system as a whole."
Balluff France celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The company will be present at the next CFIA trade show, to be held in Rennes from March 10 to 12, 2020 (Hall 2, stand F7-E8). It will then be at Global Industrie, in Villepinte, from March 30 to April 03 (Hall 4, 4K24 - Smart Tech section).
Beforehand, it will be exhibiting at the Sepem Industrie show in Rouen from January 28 to 30 (Hall 2, stand J10-I9).
