The Endress+Hauser Group invests 2 million euros in the development of its Lyon site. Endress+Hauser has expanded its campus in the Lyon region, bringing together two leaders in spectroscopy-based analytical instrumentation. The new building now houses the activities of SpectraSensors, originally based in Compiègne, which joins the Kaiser Optical Systems team to form a European-scale center of skills and expertise.
Strategic alignment: from laboratory to process
Endress+Hauser is constantly expanding its portfolio of products for on-line monitoring of quality parameters, particularly in spectroscopic technologies. In 2012, SpectraSensors, market leader in gas analysis by extractive TDL absorption spectroscopy, joined the Group, followed in 2013 by Kaiser Optical Systems, market leader in Raman spectroscopy.
Analyzers can capture product characteristics in real time, enabling process control optimization strategies to be developed for the life sciences, food & beverage, chemical and oil & gas industries. Until recently, these same analyses had to be carried out in the laboratory, outside the process, with varying response times. Today, these technological advances enable the manufacturers who use them to bring their products to market more quickly.
A center of competence to serve the European market
The establishment of a European center gives Endress+Hauser a unique position in the industrial analysis market. Customers will benefit from an extensive portfolio of analysis technologies, access to experts for the most challenging applications, and the support and resources of the Group to bring any project to completion on time.
The European center in Lyon employs around twenty people who support Endress+Hauser sales centers throughout Europe in the development of on-line physico-chemical analysis activities, project implementation and after-sales service.
A production workshop dedicated to industrial analysis solutions
The new building essentially comprises a 630 m2 workshop for the production of complete systems by integrating analyzers to customer specifications. The space is divided into several zones with workstations and assembly areas, including validation zones with gas passage and factory acceptance test zones. Around 100 m2 of office space, plus a meeting room and a 300 m2 greenfield site, complete the space.
Turnkey solutions
Over the past few years, the Endress+Hauser Group has continued to expand its range of turnkey solutions, whether for inventory management, material transfer, physico-chemical analysis, communication or process data analysis, thanks in particular to the development of digital technology. Each solution can be tailored to customer needs, and requires collaborative work to meet increasingly demanding process and application requirements. The Group's ambition is also to keep pace with technological innovations and the development of its digital activities.
