Deltamu launches the Deltamu Digital Academy, a platform for Digital Learning dedicated exclusively to industrial metrology. This project began in 2019, a year of major growth for the Auvergne-based company, with the aim of offering a training format that is both digital and personalized, capable of meeting the requirements of the industry of the future: interactive courses with e-learning modules available H24 and regular support from the trainer, eligible for reimbursement of educational expenses, no travel, etc.
The introduction of this new online format was at the heart of Deltamu's plans before the confinement - which further demonstrated the need to be able to work and train remotely.
"Digital Learning in the French industrial world is still a long way from reaching the level of the USA, where it has been adopted by no less than 77 % of companies. However, the benefits of this formula are numerous, not only thanks to the accessibility of the courses, but also, from a pedagogical point of view, thanks to the "hybrid" design of the training courses, which facilitates the transfer of skills and enhances the learners' experience thanks to diversified content and numerous interactions with the trainer through virtual classes or exchanges via the forum.the company says. Indeed, Deltamu, known as the company behind the concept of Smart MetrologyWe didn't want to limit ourselves to following market trends, but put the human element at the heart of our approach. These training courses, 100% distance learning, involve constant exchanges with a metrological trainer, expert in his field and able to follow each participant on a personalized basis".
The platform's interactivity (a true Learning Engagement Platform) and tutoring can achieve engagement rates of over 90 %, compared with 20 % for traditional eLearning.
At the end of the course, a certificate is issued to each learner. All Deltamu training courses, including those offered by the Digital Academy, are Datadock-accredited and can be reimbursed by an Opco (OPérateur de Compétences) for continuing education. Deltamu is also committed to obtaining Qualiopi certification by 2021.
Deltamu employees were able to work remotely from the very first day of confinement. Thanks to the modern technological resources and digital infrastructure implemented by the company, Deltamu has been awarded the "WorkAnywhere" label by ChooseMyCompany, making it one of the 60 companies that are most successful at teleworking.
Deltamu has therefore taken advantage of this troubled period to focus on building the future of metrology and working on fundamental issues, including finalizing the Digital Learning platform.
A project team, comprising General Manager Nuno Dos Reis, Sales Manager Marie Blanc, Project Manager Alice Peynet and Communications Manager Riccardo Tommasi, was set up with the support of the entire team to launch the first courses on the Deltamu Digital Academy training platform before the summer.
"Metrology, like industry in general, is often stigmatized for its lack of adaptability. This is not the case at Deltamu, whose objective since its creation in 1998 has been to breathe new life into the science of measurement. For over 20 years, we have been defending the idea that the role of metrology is essential in guaranteeing the reliability of measurements, and therefore of the data needed to make efficient decisions. To share and disseminate our vision of Smart MetrologyWe are involved on a daily basis in developing its role and challenges, thanks to the development of high-performance metrology software (Optimu), also available in Cloud version, innovative methods (optimization of calibration intervals, InterInstrument Comparisons, natural monitoring loops, etc.) and, finally, Digital Learning training courses".stresses Deltamu.
A Beta phase of the Deltamu Digital Academy was launched at the beginning of June, thanks to the voluntary participation of loyal customers of the Auvergne-based company. "Deltamu offers us a digital training program that enables us to get to grips with the module quickly, completely and effectively, during the three scheduled sessions. With a week between each session, everyone can progress through the various stages of the module at their own pace and in a fun way, in parallel with their daily professional activities. Juggling theory and practice, this training course is particularly relevant to learning and using the software, thanks in particular to real-time monitoring by the trainers who accompany us throughout the course. I've been working with the software for a few months now, and I've come to appreciate the many advantages it has to offer that I hadn't been aware of before. This training course is therefore a real springboard for getting to know and master the many possibilities and tricks of the Optimu software (...) "says Julien Laure, from the Colas Group's metrology department.
The training courses on offer will be of two types: metrology (from the fundamentals to practical application on very concrete topics such as "knowing how to meet MSA requirements" or "optimizing FD X07-014 calibration periodicity") and software (to learn how to use and master the various Optimu metrology software modules, such as management of measuring equipment, calibrations, uncertainties, etc.).
New programs will be added to Deltamu's current catalog, and will soon be available on the platform in French, Italian and English, in line with the company's international dimension.
