Bronkhorst presents its new generation of ES-Flow ultrasonic flowmeters for low flow rates of water, additives and other liquid substances. The improved flowmeters measure volume flow from 2 to 1500 ml/min with even greater accuracy, high linearity and low pressure drop, using ultrasound in a small-diameter tube.
The instruments are liquid-independent, thanks to a unique measuring principle that takes account of actual sound velocity in flow calculations. Thanks to the combination of a straight tube with zero dead volume, the flowmeter is self-draining. The flowmeter, featuring orbital welds with sanitary flanges, can be cleaned by CIP or SIP, and now meets 3-A sanitary standards for hygienic applications.
Parts in contact with the product are made of stainless steel, and the exterior design is IP67-rated. The user interface is a capacitive touch screen with TFT display for reading measurements and operating the instrument.
For remote operation, Bronkhorst has added various Ethernet-based fieldbuses to the list of analog and digital communication options already available. The integrated PID control card can be used to drive a control valve or pump, enabling users to set up a compact, complete control loop.
The new controllers and flowmeters for low liquid flows are used in processes in the food, pharmaceutical (e.g. additives, packaging sterilization), medical, chemical (e.g. catalysts, reagents) and other markets that require the handling of fluids, e.g. for measuring fuel consumption and dosing hydrocarbons, demineralized water, dyes or lubricants in various industries.
