The 1er the world's first electromagnetic flowmeter to measure flow rate independently of flow profile and installation
In the water and wastewater industry, high measurement accuracy is essential for optimum process control. Various influences, such as a dense pipe network or obstacles in the pipe, cause flow turbulence which affects accuracy. The Promag W from Endress+Hauser offers the unique "full flow (0 x DN)" option, providing maximum measurement performance with no pipe restrictions and therefore no pressure loss.
Benefits
- Best performance in independent flow profile measurement
- The first and only electromagnetic flowmeter with no upstream/downstream straight length (0 x DN), no measuring tube restriction (full flow) and therefore no pressure drop
- Perfect solution for installation in confined spaces, e.g. on skids; especially after fittings and other obstacles that generate turbulence in the pipe.
Promag W 300/400/500 flowmeters with "full bore (0 x DN)" option measure with high accuracy (±0.5%). They are particularly suitable for installation in confined spaces, e.g. on skids, as they require no upstream/downstream straight lengths. As a result, Promag W can easily cope with frequent vortices downstream of obstacles such as pipe bends, insertion devices, pipe wall clogging, protruding joints or different internal diameters. Thanks to its unrestricted construction, there is no loss of head.
Innovative measurement signal analysis
The new and innovative measuring concept of the Promag W (0 x DN) features several measuring electrodes that detect the flow rate. This generates a much higher density of measured values than standard devices. Thanks to in-depth signal analysis, reliable measurement results are possible even with vortex flow.
Flexible installation with no pressure drop
Previously, in the event of flow disturbances, plant operators had to either comply with the recommended upstream/downstream straight lengths, or use a device with a restricted measuring tube to calm the vortex. However, straight pipe sections are often not long enough, and restrictions lead to head loss and higher energy consumption and costs for pump operation.
With the new "full bore (0 x DN)" option, reliable measured values, flexible installation and economical operation can now be easily combined.
Transmitter technology for easy system integration
The Promag W can be combined with various transmitters: as a compact version (Proline 300/400) or as a separate version (Proline 400/500) with up to 4 inputs and outputs. There's no compromise when it comes to performance and precision. Digital signal processing begins in the intelligent sensor and forms the basis for reliable, accurate measurement. Full access to all measured values, including diagnostic data acquired by Heartbeat Technology, is always possible via digital data transmission or inputs/outputs.
