The world'sfirst electromagnetic flow meter to measure flow regardless of flow profile and installation
In the water and wastewater industry, high measurement accuracy is essential for optimal process control. Various influences, such as a very dense network of pipes or obstacles in the pipe, cause turbulence of the flow that affects accuracy. Endress-Hauser's Promag W offers the "full pass (0 x DN) option, a solution unique in the world: maximum measurement performance without driving restrictions and therefore without loss of load.
Benefits
- The best independent measurement performance of flow profiles
- The first and only electromagnetic flow meter without straight upstream/downstream (0 x DN) length, without restriction of the measuring tube (full pass) and therefore without loss of load
- Perfect solution for installation in small spaces, e.g. on skids; especially after connections and other obstacles that cause turbulence in the pipe
Promag W 300/400/500 flow meters with "full pass (0 x DN)" option measure with high accuracy (±0.5%). They are particularly suitable for mounting in small spaces, e.g. on skids, as they do not require any straight upstream/downstream lengths. Thus, the Promag W can easily handle frequent vortexes downstream of obstacles such as driving elbows, insert devices, clogging on the pipe wall, salient joints or different interior diameters. Thanks to its unrestricted construction, there is no loss of load.
Innovative analysis of the measurement signal
The New and Innovative Measurement Concept of the Promag W (0 x DN) features several electrodes that detect flow. This generates a significantly higher density of measured values than for standard devices. With in-depth analysis of the signal, reliable measurement results are possible even for the vortex.
Flexible installation without pressure drop
Previously, in the event of flow disturbances, facility operators were required to either respect the recommended upstream/downstream straight lengths or use a device with a restricted measuring tube that calms the vortex. However, there are often no straight sections of tube long enough and the restrictions result in loss of load as well as higher energy consumption and costs for pump operation.
With the new "full pass (0 x DN) option, reliable measured values, flexible installation and economical operation are now easily combined.
Transmitter technology for simple system integration
The Promag W can be combined with different transmitters: in compact version (Proline 300/400) or in separate version (Proline 400/500) with up to 4 inputs and outputs. There is no compromise in terms of performance and accuracy. Digital signal processing begins in the smart sensor and forms the basis of reliable and accurate measurement. Full access to all measured values, including diagnostic data acquired by Heartbeat Technology, is still possible via digital data transmission or input/exit.
