Flow measurement - Measurement

In the water and wastewater industry, high measuring accuracy is essential for optimal process control. Various influences, such as a very dense pipe network or obstacles in the pipe, cause flow turbulence which affects the accuracy. Endress + Hauser's Promag W now has the option "0 DN upstream & downstream full bore", a solution, according to the manufacturer, "unique in the world which allows maximum measurement performance, without mounting constraints, without reduction in diameter and therefore without pressure drop. "

Promag W 300/400/500 flowmeters with the option "0 DN upstream and downstream full bore" measure with high accuracy (± 0.5%) even directly downstream of elbows. They are particularly suitable for mounting in tight spaces and on skids, as they no longer require straight entry and exit lengths. Thus, Promag W (0 DN full bore) withstands disturbances downstream of obstacles such as bends and insert devices, and also those downstream of unknown obstacles such as deposits on the pipe wall. , protruding joints or different internal diameters. Thanks to the unrestricted construction of the diameter, this device does not generate any pressure drop.

Innovative analysis of measurement signals

The new and innovative concept of the Promag W (0 DN full bore) is that it has more measuring electrodes. This results in significantly higher data density compared to standard devices. With fine signal analysis, reliable measurement results can be obtained even in the event of disturbances.

Easy installation without pressure drop

Previously, in the event of pipeline disturbances, operators had to either observe straight inlet and outlet lengths or use a flowmeter with a measuring tube with a diameter restriction.

In many cases, however, there were not enough straight lengths and reductions in diameter still create a loss of pressure, which results in increased energy consumption for the pump and, consequently, higher energy costs. .

With this new option "0 DN upstream & downstream full bore", both problems have been solved. The contradiction turned into an advantage, reliable measurement, easy installation and economical operation!

Transmitters for integration into the system

Promag W can be combined with different transmitters: in compact version (Proline 300 and 400) or in remote version (Proline 400 and 500) with up to four inputs and outputs. Proline transmitters make no compromise in terms of performance and precision. The digital processing of the signal from the sensor to the transmitter forms the basis for reliable and highly precise measurement. Full access to all measurement data, including diagnostic data acquired by Heartbeat technology, is possible at any time via digital data transmission or freely combinable inputs and outputs.
