Teledyne Flir introduces the Si124-LD Plus acoustic imaging camera designed for compressed air leak detection, featuring improved sensitivity, automatic filtering and distance. This camera is designed to...
This advanced acoustic camera for industrial use improves performance, efficiency, and ease of use with one-handed operation that identifies problems from a safe distance.
Teledyne Flir, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, today unveiled the Si124-LD Plus, a new addition to the Si124 line of acoustic imaging cameras, provides professional inspectors with an improved user interface and software features that dramatically increase the ability to detect smaller compressed air leaks faster and more accurately so that industrial environments are safer and more productive.
The Si124-LD Plus retains its operational design with the ergonomic one-handed control, and features many improvements to increase utility and efficiency, including:
- Automatic filtering: automatically determines the best filter to use to identify small leaks that might otherwise go undetected, while reducing inspection time by eliminating external background noise.
- Automatic distance: automatically measures the distance of the leak in real time, reliably, with leak rate estimates up to five meters (16 feet) away from the source.
- Continuous Auto Correction: Improves leak detection performance to find the smallest air leaks from 0.016 L/min to 0.004 L/min (0.016 L/min = 0.00057 cfm, 0.004 L/min = 0.00014 cfm).
" The Si124-LD Plus acoustic imaging camera represents a major change in compressed air leak location in the industrial sector "Rob Milner, global business development manager, Teledyne Flir. " The Si124 series of acoustic imaging sensors has already proven to cut inspection time by a factor of ten, and now, with additional software features such as automatic distance and filtering in the "plus" version, industry inspectors will be able to take advantage of the device's increased efficiency and ability to detect even smaller leaks. If left undetected or unresolved, these leaks can not only create hazardous conditions for buildings and industrial sites, but also result in high repair costs and increased energy costs.. "
The acoustic imaging camera also offers an updated user interface (UI) and full integration with the powerful Flir Thermal Studio software for post-inspection analysis and reporting. Of note, the Si124-LD Plus provides on-camera and software quantification of the leak, so inspectors can prioritize repairs and justify expenses.
Flir Thermal Studio Integration
Flir Thermal Studio allows operators to import acoustic images from the camera into the desktop software suite to easily process and analyze acoustic imagery as well as multispectral imagery recording from other Teledyne Flir inspection tools. This functionality allows inspectors to create advanced reports as part of the overall predictive maintenance or condition monitoring program across all visible, thermal and acoustic spectra. The software offers users the ability to create pre-populated or fully customized multi-spectral report templates, including multi-spectral image analysis within the same report or even on the same page using the drag-and-drop report creation feature.
The Si124-LD Plus includes two rechargeable batteries as well as a battery charger, cord and USB stick, all packaged in a hard case for safe and easy transport on the go.
