Piezoelectric tip/tilt platforms are used today in many applications such as optical component alignment, optical tweezers, wafer inspection or laser machining processes.
These solutions provide high guiding accuracy thanks to a backlash-free deformable structure that generates no friction and requires no maintenance. Some models allow operation beyond 1.5 kHz.
Equipped with Picma's patented piezoelectric actuators, the tip/tilt PI solutions are protected against moisture and failures due to increased leakage current.
This technology provides up to ten times the service life of conventional polymer-insulated actuators.
More than 100 billion cycles can be achieved with these devices.
The design based on a parallel kinematics allows to limit the inertia and to ensure a homogeneous dynamic behavior on the various axes while preserving a high linearity and a great precision.
