Infrared thermography is extremely used to highlight heating on electrically charged infrastructure, for example, and to carry out corrective actions that prevent production shutdowns and operating losses.

Combining quality and automatic image management, the new testo 883 thermal imaging camera has been specially designed to facilitate the control of a site's installations (electrical cabinets, etc.) by maintenance technicians. According to Testo, its new functions guarantee fast and reliable work.

The testo 883 thermal imaging camera has an infrared resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, expandable to 640 x 480 pixels thanks to built-in Testo SuperResolution technology. In addition, manual focus provides total control and sharp thermal images.

Maintenance technicians all face the same difficulty when making thermal images of an installation: many similar measuring objects give similar thermal images. Until now, they have had to invest time to create lists or add a voice comment to each individual thermal image in order to be able to assign the images correctly after an inspection routine.

Testo SiteRecognition technology for the new testo 883 camera now supports location identification, recording and thermal image management in a fully automatic manner. By avoiding confusion and evaluation errors, this function saves the technician time because manual image allocation is no longer necessary.

In addition to managing measurement locations with testo SiteRecognition, the IRSoft testo software also enables detailed analysis, processing and documentation of thermal images. It is free to download on www.testo.com/irsoft.

Intuitive control

Testo's smart combination of touchscreen and proven joystick makes the job more efficient and fast.

Always connected during work the Testo Thermography app also offers many advantages to the technician according to the company:

  • conducting rapid on-site analyses (addition of measurement points and/or comments, determining the temperature curve, etc.) or integrating the measurement values of the testo 770-3 amperemetric clamp into the thermal image.
  • using a smartphone or tablet as a second screen,
  • remote control of the thermal imaging camera,
  • documentation: selecting images, entering relevant data, previewing and sending the report by email.

Interchangeable telephoto lens

To perform an accurate thermography of distant buildings or objects, the standard 30 x 23 lens of the testo 883 thermal imaging camera is replaced by a 12-degree x 9-degree telephoto lens.

With "perfect" image quality according to Testo, and automatic management of these, the new testo 883 thermal imaging camera, offered alone or in kit, is a real effective help for site maintenance technicians.
